Live with Jasen Rice

The 30-Day Breakdown.

Four weeks. Four themes. Each one builds on the last. Daily tasks run 15–30 minutes and can be done from your desk, your lot, or your phone.

Week 1 Days 2–8

Know Your Lot

Face your numbers. Build the daily habit of knowing what's on your lot, how long it's been there, and what needs to move.

📞 Week 1 Check-in with Jasen — bring your Day 2 vs. Day 8 numbers
Week 2 Days 9–15

Price It Right

Stop pricing reactively. Build a proactive discipline where every car has a strategy, not just a number.

📞 Week 2 Check-in with Jasen — bring your repricing numbers and one decision you're second-guessing
Week 3 Days 16–22

Lead the People

Lead Management, BDC Performance & Accountability. Your lot doesn't fix itself. This week is about the humans running it — response time, follow-up, and who's holding them accountable.

📞 Week 3 Check-in with Jasen — bring your lead response improvement and a team conversation you had this week
Week 4 Days 23–30

Own the Results

Three weeks of building. Week 4 is where you prove it. Lock in the habits and walk out with your 60-90 day plan.

🏆 Final Check-in — Results reveal: Day 2 vs. Day 30 numbers + your 60-90 day plan

How Day 1 Runs.

Every session builds on the one before it. You'll leave with your 30-day challenge playbook and a complete picture of where your operation stands today.

9:00 AM
Every attendee shares a quick snapshot of their operation — inventory size, current turn rate, biggest pain points. This sets the baseline for the day and ensures every session hits where it matters for your specific store. The assessments also feed directly into your 30-day challenge playbook.
9:30 AM
Work The Facts. The foundational session that frames the entire day. We walk through why gut-feel pricing, emotional stocking decisions, and reactive management cost your store money every day — and how to replace them with a repeatable, data-driven process. This is the mindset shift that makes the 30-day challenge actually work.
10:30 AM
The 10 key metrics that tell you the true health of your lot. We cover age buckets, % price-to-market, % cost-to-market, sale rate by bucket, and what bleed-through looks like before it hits your P&L. You'll fill in your own store's numbers as we go — this feeds directly into Week 1 of your challenge.
12:00 PM
Your online lot is your frontline. We audit what makes a listing actually convert — photos, descriptions, SRP impressions, VDP views — and build a LotReady standard your team can execute consistently. Live examples from real stores across multiple markets.
1:00 PM
Lunch is on us. Eat together, pull your DMS data, and prep for the afternoon sessions — which get into live numbers from your specific store.
2:00 PM
The carry-to-sell ratio is the most overlooked metric in used car management. We'll identify exactly where you're overstocked, what you should be buying instead, and how to appraise for turn — at the desk and at auction — without giving away your gross.
3:30 PM
The process gaps that kill appointments. How to train your BDC to convert more. And the accountability systems that make sure your team owns their numbers Monday through Friday, not just the days before a sales meeting.
5:00 PM
See all of today's frameworks applied inside the LotWalk platform in real time. Whether you're a current client or brand new, this session shows you how the tool brings everything together. This is a resource, not a sales pitch. Non-clients leave knowing exactly how the platform works — no pressure.
5:00 PM
You leave with your personalized 30-day challenge playbook — built during the day using your real store data. Jasen reviews every playbook as a group, gives direct feedback, and sends you out the door knowing exactly what you're doing for the next 30 days. The challenge starts tomorrow.
Jasen Rice leading a First30 Challenge session
Jasen Rice
CEO, Lotpop Inc. — Your Instructor

The Guy Who's
Been in Your Seat.

Jasen Rice isn't a consultant who's read about car dealerships. He started in the business at a Ford store in St. Louis in 1997 and spent years on the floor before building one of the most recognized used car coaching operations in the country.

He founded Lotpop in 2013 with one mission: help dealers maximize gross and volume from used cars at the same time. The First30 Challenge is where he puts everything he knows into one focused day — and then stays with you for 30 more.

  • 25+ years in the automotive business, from the store floor to the C-suite
  • Worked hands-on with 1,000+ dealerships across every market size
  • Author of the WTF: Work The Facts used car management framework
  • CEO of Lotpop Inc. — the inventory intelligence platform used by top-performing dealers nationwide
  • Not a keynote speaker. Jasen is in the room, at the table, working your numbers with you — and on the weekly check-in calls for 30 days after.
"Most dealers know they have a used car problem. Very few are willing to commit to 30 days of fixing it. The ones who do are the ones winning in their market."

Don't Take Our Word For It.

★★★★★

"I've been in this business 14 years. I learned more in that one day about managing my used car department than in most full-year training programs. Jasen actually looks at your numbers with you — not just slides."

RB
Ron B.
Used Car Manager, Midwest Ford Dealer
★★★★★

"We came in skeptical because we'd done plenty of training events. This was different. Small room, real data, and we walked out with an actual plan we implemented the following week. Already seeing results."

SP
Stephanie P.
GM, Independent Dealer Group — Kansas City
★★★★★

"The stocking strategy module alone was worth the trip. We've been carrying the wrong mix for two years and didn't even realize it. Flew in from Texas. Would do it again."

David W.
Dealer Principal, Multi-Rooftop Group — Texas

Things People Ask First.

No. The First30 Challenge is open to all dealers. Non-clients are welcome and will complete the same core 30-day challenge using whatever tools they already have in their operation. LotWalk clients get optional bonus tasks that leverage the platform, but the full challenge is available to everyone. You will not be pitched during the event.
After Day 1, you receive a personalized challenge playbook with daily tasks for 29 days. Each task takes 15–30 minutes and connects directly to one of the four weekly themes: Know Your Lot, Price It Right, Lead the People, and Own the Results. Every week ends with a 15-minute live video check-in with Jasen Rice where you share your numbers, ask questions, and stay accountable. The final check-in is a results reveal with your Day 2 vs. Day 30 numbers.
No. The First30 Challenge is an industry event, not a product training. The vast majority of the day is strategy and framework content that applies regardless of what software you use. We include a LotWalk walkthrough at the end of Day 1 as a resource demonstration — not a close. Non-clients attend all the time and get just as much value.
Once you register, our team will reach out to get your inventory data loaded into LotWalk before Day 1. This is a quick setup — we handle the heavy lifting. Having your real data in the system is what makes the training actionable, so it's important we get this done in advance. Plan for a short onboarding call with our team in the days leading up to the event.
It's not a marketing gimmick — it's the format. The small room means Jasen can actually work with your real data, review your specific numbers, and tailor the conversation to your market. In a 400-person conference, you're a seat number. In a 7-person workshop, your lot is on the table. The weekly check-in calls have the same dynamic — small enough that every participant gets real time, not a watered-down group call.
Bring a laptop or tablet with access to your DMS or inventory management system. The afternoon sessions involve pulling real numbers from your store and working them live. You don't need to prepare reports in advance — just have access to your data. Bring a pen for the workbook, and come ready to be honest about where your operation actually stands today.
Absolutely. Used Car Managers are a great fit — the daily tasks are directly applicable to their workflows. That said, the accountability and people performance module tends to hit differently when you're the one responsible for the culture. A lot of GMs and Dealer Principals who attend end up saying it was one of the more clarifying days they've spent in the business.
